Why does my dog roll over sample paper of perfume whenever he smells it?

It is really interesting, whenever I give my 8 year old german pointer one of those sample pages from magazines that have perfume samples on it, he rolls over onto it. Perhaps, he wants to smell good???

my dog used to do that and it is because he knows that u will use it and he wants to mark u to other dogs that he id your dog and other dogs stay away
More like he wants to cover his scent. Its natural for a dog to do this. Usually dogs roll in feces or other strong scents to cover their own scent.
He wants to make it his terrotiary-he is rolling so he can put his scent over it and make it his lol
All dogs do that. If it was something dead, he would do the same thing.
