Macy*s usually does not want its customers to pass out- too many lawsuits. So take your samples in reputable places.
Yes, it is possible. Don't accept ANYTHING from strangers. I wouldnt even risk drinking lemonade from a little kid's lemonade stand. You just never know.
Reputable places is the key. I wouldn't smell anything passed to me in a dark alley, even if it is only an urban legend.
